Coming Out As Dalit: A Discussion with Author and Journalist Yashica Dutt

Join the Asian Network at Yale and Office of Diversity & Inclusion in an interactive discussion with Yashica Dutt, a leading anti-caste expert, journalist, and the award-winning author of the non-fiction memoir, Coming Out as Dalit.

Coming Out as Dalit, Dutt’s first book, has been lauded both critically, and embraced by readers. Dutt’s journey to accepting her Dalit identity as a member of the lowest caste in the traditional Indian caste system also exposes the inequalities it creates from education access to human rights.

Dutt is an emerging figure recognized for highlighting Dalit rights globally and her voice has been instrumental in understanding the realities of caste within the increasingly prominent Indian diaspora.

We are pleased to host Yashica Dutt for an informative and thought-provoking discussion on these important issues. This event will be moderated by ANY Social Justice Committee co-chair Sunil Koundal. Register today for your chance to win a free copy of the book!
