Latin American Policy Leader Series: Visit of Regional Director of UN Women for Latin America & Caribbean: “Diversity, Equality, and Gender”

The Yale MacMillan Center Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies, Fox International Fellowship Program, and Program on Peace and Development are delighted to announce the 2022 Latin American Policy Leader Series.
From January to May 2022, the Yale community will have the opportunity to hear from and discuss with high-level Latin American experts and policymakers about how we can work together towards a more equal and just world.

2022 IRIS 5k Run For Refugees

The IRIS Run for Refugees is back in-person! Join us on Super Bowl Sunday, February 13th at 10:00 AM for a flat & fast 5K through New Haven’s East Rock neighborhood.

The in-person event is limited to 2,000 participants!

Virtual run option: If you don’t feel comfortable joining us in-person, run or walk, or bike a 5k in your neighborhood, on your treadmill, or wherever you like. We will mail your shirt and bib out to you.

Mondays at Beinecke: John Hersey's Hiroshima with Lesley M. M. Blume

Lesley M. M. Blume, Los Angeles-based journalist and historian, is the author of Fallout: The Hiroshima Cover-up and the Reporter Who Revealed It to the World (Simon & Schuster, Aug 2020). Blume worked extensively with archivists at the Beinecke Library while researching the book. The reporter in question is John Hersey, whose 30,000 word article “Hiroshima” was released 75 years ago, in the August 31, 1946 issue of the New Yorker magazine, and revealed for the first time the true radioactive aftermath of the Japan bombings.
