AIDS Walk New Haven is a 5K walk to raise money to provide support services to individuals and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in the greater New Haven community. The goals are to raise money, increase public awareness, promote prevention through advocacy, and unite the Yale-New Haven community against stigma, apathy and infection. The $10K fundraising goal was exceeded. $10,500 was raised! Congrats to the Yale University Affinity Groups for coming in 1st place of the fundraising teams! ! We raised $1,603 and had 75 participants. 100% of the proceeds benefit local AIDS service organizations and community health centers, including: Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, Liberty Community Services, New Reach, Leeway, Fair Haven Community Health Center, Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, Community Health Care Van, AIDS Project New Haven, Guardian Health, and the Yale Child Study Center.
