Lunarfest is a celebration of the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture, offering arts and cultural programs for adults and children throughout the city of New Haven and at Yale. Lunarfest creates community bonds through schools, arts nonprofit, and business partnerships.
Programs begin in the fall each year and culminate in a series of performances and events celebrating Lunar New Year. Critical partners are Yale, the City of New Haven, Town Green, and the schools, arts nonprofits, and libraries that offer space to discover new cultures in the greater New Haven neighborhood.

In her second book, Beyond Ally: The Pursuit of Racial Justice, with wisdom and compassion, Dr. Akbar advances her racial justice work through the creation of the Ally Identity Model, which details the stages of allyship in dismantling systemic oppression. As we transition from Fall to Winter, join us for our November wellness series, Sweat & Sip! Each Wednesday, November 4, 11, and 18 at 5pm, the Asian Network at Yale, LGBTQ Affinity Group, and Working Women’s Network are hosting a movement and meditation series. This series will feature 30 minutes of mindful movement, 10 minutes of guided meditation, and 20 minutes to sip on your beverage of choice while connecting with members of the Yale community.
